Health Considerations

High altitude can be a serious problem up in the mountains. It is much drier and there is less oxygen in the air. Typical signs and symptoms may include shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, nausea, chest pain, palpitations, irregular heart rhythm, thirst, and ringing in ears. We need to be advised of any medical conditions such as asthma, allergies to bee stings, diabetes, epilepsy, heart conditions, and any recent surgeries or injuries. Pregnant women should receive medical permission from their physician.
